Black-painted plastic sheet, etched with a custom plotter
Limited edition of 12 signed and numbered copies.
Dimensions: 33×33 cm (13×13 inch)
“5th Dimension” explores the concept of higher-dimensional geometry using the Sutcliffe Pentagons algorithm. The work visualizes a complex, recursive tiling of space within a pentagonal boundary, creating a sense of infinite depth and multidimensional structure. The delicate white lines on a black background emphasize the mathematical beauty and symmetry of the pattern, evoking the idea of a hidden fifth dimension beyond human perception.
The artwork was algorithmically generated using custom code, blending art, mathematics, and computational aesthetics.
Artistic Method:
This artwork was created using a pen plotter with a custom tool that etches the painted surface of a plastic sheet. The machine-controlled movements scratch away the top layer, revealing the glossy white surface beneath. This method allows for very thin, fine lines that shine in the light, creating a striking contrast against the matte black background.
