Black-painted plastic sheet, etched with a custom plotter
Limited edition of 12 signed and numbered copies.
Dimensions: 33×33 cm (13×13 inch)
Constructive/Destructive visualizes the interference pattern of two waves. Using mathematical formulas that simulate wave superposition, the artwork reveals areas of constructive and destructive interference, creating a hypnotic field of ripples, peaks, and troughs. Fine white lines flow across the black background, creating a topographic illusion of undulating energy that merges aesthetics with physics, inviting viewers to contemplate the unseen forces that shape the world.
The artwork was algorithmically generated using custom code, blending art, mathematics, and computational aesthetics.
Artistic Method:
This artwork was created using a pen plotter with a custom tool that etches the painted surface of a plastic sheet. The machine-controlled movements scratch away the top layer, revealing the glossy white surface beneath. This method allows for very thin, fine lines that shine in the light, creating a striking contrast against the matte black background.
